Peter A. Sturrock
PhD in physics, Cambridge + Professor Emeritus of Applied Physics, Stanford + founder of the Society for Scientific Exploration
Biography
A Stanford plasma astrophysicist who chaired the 1997 Pocantico workshop (the 'Sturrock Panel'), the first independent scientific review of the phenomenon's physical evidence. A panel of physicists assessed cases involving traces, radar and instrument effects and concluded the subject deserved continued scientific study and that some cases resisted trivial explanation. Decades before AARO, he established the argument that the phenomenon is an empirical question, not a matter of belief.
