He was skating with Masato Kawano the evening both said they saw an orange object descend over a vineyard and a short, wrinkle-faced occupant emerge from it. His testimony, taken alongside his companion's, is what prevents classifying the episode as the individual fantasy of a seven-year-old; the versions matched on the central elements. The case became a classic of Japanese ufology and reached the national press, which amplified some of the occupant's features —the supposed 'fangs'— beyond what the children described.
