Biography

He was around seventy, ufologically illiterate, and living in communist Poland in 1978, a context in which the account offered no possible gain: no publishing market, no lecture circuit, no press willing to pay for it. He described two short beings with greenish faces who climbed onto his horse-drawn cart and led him to a white object 'long as a bus', where he was reportedly examined. Neighbors reported seeing the object and ground traces were documented. The total absence of motive is the strongest argument in his favor; the absence of any instrumental verification, the strongest against.

On the morning of 10 May 1978, Polish farmer Jan Wolski, around 70, said that two short, greenish-faced beings climbed onto his horse-drawn cart and led him to a clearing where a white object 'as long as a bus' hovered. He recounted being taken aboard and examined. A man with no profit motive or interest in the subject, his sincerity impressed investigators. In 2005 a monument to the encounter was erected at Emilcin — a rare case of a sighting commemorated in stone.
