Pier Fortunato Zanfretta

Night security guard in Torriglia (Genoa) · the contact case certified by the Carabinieri (Italy, 1978)

Biography

His case has a feature almost no other contact account offers: the encounter was reported by radio in real time, as it was happening, to his security company's dispatch. The Carabinieri certified a physical ground trace, collected 52 concordant testimonies, and filed the case with a reliability rated 'good'. That institutional basis is solid. What erodes it is what came afterward: under successive hypnosis sessions over years, the account grew to incorporate multiple encounters and an increasingly elaborate narrative, an expansion pattern that operates systematically as a warning sign across the corpus.

Zanfretta · Torriglia· 1978–81

On the night of 6 December 1978 night watchman Pier Fortunato Zanfretta radioed his dispatch, in real time, reporting an encounter with an object and beings at Torriglia (Genoa). The Carabinieri certified a physical trace, collected 52 concordant witness statements and filed the case with reliability rated 'good'. The subsequent 11 'abductions' (1978–1981) recovered under hypnosis make it the most documented contact case in Italian ufology — and the most disputed.
