Linda Napolitano

Lower East Side resident, Manhattan · the central case of 'Witnessed' (Budd Hopkins, 1996) and the most disputed in abduction ufology

Biography

She claimed to have been lifted by a beam of light from the twelfth floor of her building and taken to a craft near the Brooklyn Bridge, in the middle of Manhattan and in the presence —according to the account— of witnesses said to include a senior United Nations official. Budd Hopkins made her the flagship case of his work. It is also the case where critical investigation has been most devastating: the independent witnesses never materialized verifiably, the chain of correspondence underpinning them was challenged as fabricated, and several investigators from within the field —not outside skeptics— concluded the file does not hold up. She is kept in the directory for her historiographic weight, not for her soundness.
