The night in question
At some point in 2019, during a mission over the Pacific Ocean, an event was observed and recorded by at least one U.S. Navy service member using two distinct methods: filming, with their own device, the display of an infrared sensor aboard the platform (a 'secondary capture,' with the fidelity limitations and artifacts —blurring, flickering— that entails), and recording directly with their hand-held camera, by eye, in low-light conditions. The Navy's Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena Task Force (UAPTF) transferred the resulting set of five files to AARO in 2022; AARO explicitly notes that 'the footage contained within DOW-UAP-PR123 through DOW-UAP-PR127 was captured contemporaneously' — meaning the five clips document the same time window of the same event, not separate observations.
The first three files (PR123, 1:04; PR124, 53s; PR125, 28s) are secondary captures of the sensor display: in all three, a single area of contrast enters and exits the frame as the sensor tracks it, losing and regaining distinctiveness against the background several times. The other two (PR126, 2:32; PR127, 2:29) are direct hand-held recordings, in low-light conditions, showing a different view of the same event: in PR126, the camera 'brings two apparent light sources into frame' from the upper left corner and, as it pans, 'repeatedly brings several apparent light sources into and out of frame' —that is, more than two lights, not just one—; in PR127, the camera intermittently tracks 'an apparent light source,' losing and regaining it several times over two and a half minutes.
None of the five documents includes coordinates, platform identification, or written observer testimony. Although the UAPTF-to-AARO transfer happened in 2022, all five files were only uploaded to DVIDS on August 7, 2026, within PURSUE's fifth drop — the public release date, not the date AARO internally received it, is what organizes this inventory.

Why this case moved the needle
This file is structurally different from almost everything else reviewed this session, for two reasons. First, provenance: the material reached AARO via direct transfer from the Navy's UAPTF in 2022 —the same institutional channel that produced the Scott Bray congressional hearing video and other already-consolidated files in the corpus— not via a later discovery on a classified network while responding to a FOIA request. It is, in that sense, a shorter and more traceable chain of custody than the roughly 50 videos in the Release 02 batch reviewed in this same session.
Second, and more importantly: it is the only case in this entire sweep with more than two independent, contemporaneous documentary sources of the same event. Where most files in this corpus consist of a single clip from a single vantage, here there are five: three secondary captures of a sensor display (with their own fidelity limitations) and two hand-held, naked-eye recordings, in low-light conditions, that explicitly document 'several apparent light sources' —plural— moving and being chased by the camera. That documentary redundancy proves no anomalous nature, but it does elevate the case above the usual pattern of 'one witness, one clip, no corroboration,' which is precisely the most commonly cited limitation across the rest of this session's files.
The most direct prosaic reading for multiple light sources sighted at night over the ocean —from a military platform, in low-visibility conditions— remains some combination of conventional air or maritime traffic (navigation lights on distant aircraft or vessels), flares, or atmospheric reflections, whose multiple and shifting appearance is consistent with the observing platform's own motion over the water. Without telemetry, coordinates, or a mission report accompanying the five clips, the case cannot be closed with greater precision — but the redundancy of five contemporaneous documentary sources, uncommon in this corpus, does distinguish it as one of the most formally corroborated files in the entire PURSUE/DVIDS catalogue reviewed this session.
