Biography
He was the younger of the two and the one who fared worst: he was paralyzed with terror during the episode, and on the sheriff's covert recording —the tape's most cited moment— he can be heard alone, with no audience to deceive, showing genuine panic. His later trajectory is the exact reverse of the professional contactee's: for decades he avoided talking about the case, shunned attention, and built no career on it; only much later did he confirm the account in books and interviews, without recanting. He died in 2023. That prolonged silence is, in evidentiary terms, more eloquent than any of his statements.
