Biography

Separated from his group at nightfall, he climbed a tree to sleep safely and lit flares believing a zigzagging light was a helicopter. What followed is among the strangest in the Blue Book file: he described two humanoids and a third robotic-looking figure with red eyes that besieged him for hours at the foot of the tree and exhaled a vapor that knocked him unconscious. He kept a coherent account for decades without building a career on it. It is, at the same time, a test case for the limits of single-witness testimony: there is no external corroboration.
