Biography

A Norwegian engineer and researcher at Østfold University College, who in 1983 founded Project Hessdalen, the world's most serious attempt to study a recurring luminous phenomenon with instruments. Faced with the wave of lights in the Hessdalen valley (1981–1984), instead of merely collecting testimonies he installed automatic measurement stations that continuously record visual, electromagnetic and radar data. He co-organized the first international scientific conference on the phenomenon (1994) and maintains one of the few truly quantitative field-research lines in ufology. He embodies the site's ideal: measure before concluding.
