One night in June or July 2011, after dark, one witness was pulling out of his driveway around 8 or 9 PM. He was with another person, who was driving, and a third occupant sat in the front passenger seat. The vehicle was about fifty feet from the driveway, preparing to turn left at the intersection. As they reached the corner, the witness was looking out the window and saw three lights in the sky. He got out of the vehicle, and looking up, saw a massive black isosceles-triangle-shaped object flying north. The object had a car-sized white light at each of its three corners, slightly recessed inward, emitting a diffuse glow. It flew low, producing a low humming noise with a pulsing sound.

One of the occupants told him to get a video, but by the time he got his phone out, the object had already flown over the treeline behind the houses to the north and out of sight. They watched it for a total of about 10 to 15 seconds. According to the FD-302, it left no contrails, and the witness felt dumbfounded and awestruck. That witness was overwhelmed by its size and by how low it was. He thought it might have been 800 feet above the ground and, from the dimensions of their surroundings, estimated it at roughly 200 feet long by 100 feet wide. Though it looked to him more like an equilateral triangle at first glance, those calculated dimensions would suggest more of an isosceles shape. The object moved slowly and steadily, and both witnesses agreed on the pulsing hum. One of them further recalled something grayish or graphite-colored in the middle of the triangle, between the three corner lights.

Neither witness had a clear memory of the object's thickness or other details of its vertical profile: they explained that, being initially underneath the triangle, they didn't get a good view of its side, and that the moment they likely would have gotten a better view of its rear profile coincided exactly with their failed attempt to pull out a phone to record it. One witness believed a couple of people in the neighborhood had also seen it, and said he would try to find out whether they, and the other neighbors who saw it, would be willing to give a written statement or speak with the FBI. The two witnesses were interviewed together by FBI agents on April 11, 2025, nearly fourteen years after the sighting, and the interview was documented in an FD-302, the FBI's form for such interviews. It was conducted by a supervisory special agent, a special agent and a task force officer; one more person attended, whose title is blacked out. According to the form, one witness served six and a half years in the U.S. Army and the other 24; the rest of what it says about their careers is blacked out.

The FD-302 came nearly fourteen years after the sighting, so everything it says is memory: the witnesses recorded nothing, there is no photograph, and the form is printed with a note that it contains neither recommendations nor conclusions of the FBI. The two witnesses were interviewed together and the document does not show who said what, so it is not possible to know how much of each account is independent of the other. The vehicle's third occupant does not appear as a declarant.

The measurements are one witness's estimates: the altitude, about 800 feet, which he thought possible, and the size, about 200 by 100 feet, which he calculated from the dimensions of the surroundings; neither was measured. The FD-302 records that it left no contrail; by this case's own reasoning, that absence says little, because contrails form at high altitude and would barely be visible at night. One of the witnesses believed a couple of neighbors had also seen it; the file does not confirm any.
