In the first tranche of the PURSUE system (war.gov/UFO, May 8, 2026), the FBI contributed two sets of still images of unidentified anomalous phenomena it had submitted to the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO). The corpus treats the B series separately —two dozen-odd infrared/night-vision frames from a military system over the western United States in 2025, associated with the USPER event—. This file covers the A series: eight images (A1 to A8) of deliberately sparser provenance and context.

The official description of the A series is strikingly terse. The FBI submitted to AARO 'a still image derived from a U.S. government system'; the event's date and location 'were not provided'; the original imagery 'was altered with redactions' before submission, and it was not accompanied by a mission report. The operator who generated the material stated they could not 'positively identify' the phenomenon. That is: eight frames with no timestamp, no geolocation, no narrative chain and part of the field blacked out for security reasons. Per the war.gov statement, redactions in this release are confined to witness identities, government-facility locations and military-sensitive information unrelated to the UAP itself —but the net effect, for anyone examining the A series, is that almost no context remains on which to ground an interpretation.

The distinction from the B series matters and is worth pinning down. The B series comes from a 'military system', is dated (2025) and located (western U.S.), and sits within an event that has witnesses and an FBI-302 interview (the USPER case). The A series, by contrast, comes from a generic 'government system', with no date or location and no associated testimony. There is no public basis to link them to the same incident, so the corpus keeps them as distinct nodes and avoids the temptation —common in coverage— to merge all 'FBI photos' into a single sighting.

Ocho imágenes anómalas suenan a evidencia; ocho imágenes anómalas sin fecha, sin lugar, sin sensor identificable, sin reporte de misión y parcialmente redactadas son, en términos analíticos, casi inservibles para inferir la naturaleza del objeto. No se puede geolocalizar, no se puede correlacionar con radar o tráfico aéreo, no se puede fechar contra efemérides ni reconstruir la geometría de observación. La honestidad obliga a decir que el operador del propio sistema gubernamental no logró identificar el fenómeno —lo que descarta una misidentificación trivial documentada—, pero esa misma ausencia de contexto impide tanto confirmar una anomalía como descartarla: el caso se queda, por construcción, en lo indeterminado.

Por eso entra como caso-documento tier B, valorado por la solidez de su procedencia institucional (una sumisión formal FBI→AARO publicada en el canal oficial) y no por su contenido probatorio. Su función en el corpus es doble. Primero, completa el registro fotográfico de la primera entrega PURSUE junto a la serie B, dejando ambos conjuntos navegables en el visor con su provenance correcta. Segundo, y más importante, ilustra una crítica recurrente al diseño del sistema: que «dato no es divulgación». Liberar imágenes despojadas del metadato que las haría interpretables traslada al público la apariencia de transparencia sin su sustancia. El corpus enmarca la serie A con esa cautela: registra que el material existe y de dónde viene, sin convertir ocho fotogramas sin contexto en peso de evidencia sobre la naturaleza del fenómeno.

The A series's interest lies not in what it shows but in what it lacks, which makes it a good calibrator of what 'release' means in the PURSUE cycle. Eight anomalous images sound like evidence; eight anomalous images with no date, no location, no identifiable sensor, no mission report and partial redaction are, analytically, almost useless for inferring the object's nature. They cannot be geolocated, cannot be correlated with radar or air traffic, cannot be dated against ephemerides nor have their observation geometry reconstructed. Honesty requires noting that the government system's own operator failed to identify the phenomenon —which rules out a trivially documented misidentification—, but that very absence of context prevents both confirming an anomaly and dismissing one: the case remains, by construction, indeterminate.

Hence it enters as a tier-B document-case, valued for the solidity of its institutional provenance (a formal FBI→AARO submission published on the official channel) and not for its probative content. Its function in the corpus is twofold. First, it completes the photographic record of the first PURSUE tranche alongside the B series, leaving both sets navigable in the viewer with their correct provenance. Second, and more important, it illustrates a recurring critique of the system's design: that 'data is not disclosure'. Releasing images stripped of the metadata that would make them interpretable hands the public the appearance of transparency without its substance. The corpus frames the A series with that caution: it records that the material exists and where it comes from, without turning eight context-free frames into the weight of evidence about the phenomenon's nature.
