PURSUE Release 02 (May 22, 2026) was mostly audiovisual material, but it included six PDF documents. Three of them come from the Department of Energy (DOE) and share a thread rarely documented with primary sources: sustained interest in anomalous phenomena within the U.S. nuclear-weapons complex and its national laboratories. They are heterogeneous in form and weight, but coherent in theme.

DOE-UAP-D001 — 'Pantex Unidentified Object Incident Report'. Pantex, near Amarillo (Texas), is the country's sole plant for the final assembly and disassembly of nuclear weapons, operated by Consolidated Nuclear Security, LLC. The released extract (two pages, marked UCNI — Unclassified Controlled Nuclear Information, pages 5-6 of a 6-page report) contains an image captured from a ground surveillance radar tower at the site and, on the next page, 'Sandia National Labs Enhanced Images of the Object'. That is: an unidentified object over the most sensitive nuclear-weapons facility in the country, documented by site security and with the image enhanced by Sandia. The continuity with the historical pattern of UAP over nuclear infrastructure —the Sandia/Los Alamos green fireballs of 1948-49, Malmstrom in 1967— is direct.

DOE-UAP-D002 — correspondence to and from James L. Tuck, a British-American Los Alamos physicist (he worked on the Manhattan Project's explosive lenses and later led the Project Sherwood controlled-fusion effort). The 1970s letters show his personal interest in the anomalous: he discusses ball lightning, mentions the Condon Report (Dr. Edward U. Condon), cites James M. McCampbell's book 'UFOLOGY' (1976), and speculates about Einstein's unified field theory and propulsion. Tuck is a through-line: he had taken part in the New Mexico green-fireball investigations around 1949 alongside Lincoln La Paz, so his 1970s correspondence extends a decades-long Los Alamos engagement with the question.

DOE-UAP-D003 — a one-page invitation, dated May 20, 1986, from the Pajarito Astronomers, the Los Alamos amateur-astronomy club, to its May 29, 1986 meeting in the Ranch Room at Fuller Lodge. The guest speaker was LANL physicist Dr. John Warren (division AT-6), with the talk 'Why Should a Scientist be Concerned about UFO's?'. It is the most tangential of the three —a club talk, not an incident— but it documents that the question was circulating inside the Los Alamos scientific community.

All three are embedded in the case viewer as self-hosted PDFs (same-origin), with a link to the official war.gov original: since war.gov blocks third-party framing, the embeddable binary was obtained from a public mirror and is served from the repo.

Tomados en conjunto, sin embargo, documentan con fuentes primarias un hecho que se afirma a menudo y se cita poco: que el complejo nuclear estadounidense —el DOE y sus laboratorios, Los Alamos, Sandia, Pantex— ha lidiado con la cuestión UAP a lo largo de décadas, desde la era de los green fireballs hasta un incidente de seguridad contemporáneo en Pantex. The value of these three documents is institutional context, not evidence. None proves an anomalous origin: the Pantex extract is redacted and trimmed to two pages with no kinematic data or published chain of custody; Tuck's correspondence is a scientist's personal interest, not an official investigation; and the Pajarito Astronomers invitation is, literally, the announcement of a club talk. Taken separately, they are minor pieces.

Taken together, however, they document with primary sources a fact often asserted and seldom cited: that the U.S. nuclear-weapons complex —the DOE and its labs, Los Alamos, Sandia, Pantex— has engaged with the UAP question across decades, from the green-fireball era to a contemporary security incident at Pantex. The Pantex report is the most substantive (security-grade documentation + Sandia image enhancement over a top-tier nuclear site); the Tuck and Pajarito pieces are softer evidence of sustained scientific attention. The calibrated reading: these are records of attention, not of anomaly —but they fill a provenance gap, anchoring the 'UAP over nuclear facilities' pattern to primary DOE documents released by PURSUE.
