Entre 2020 y 2024, el Departamento de Defensa estadounidense (reorganizado en este periodo como Department of War) recibió reportes estructurados de incursiones UAP recurrentes sobre el área de responsabilidad del CENTCOM (United States Central Command), con concentración en el Golfo Pérsico, el Estrecho de Ormuz y el Golfo de Adén. Los reportes describían objetos con comportamiento cinético anómalo penetrando o sobrevolando zonas de actividad de la US Navy, observados desde plataformas militares mediante múltiples modalidades de sensores. Buena parte de este material fue elevada a la Oficina de Resolución de Anomalías de Todos los Dominios (AARO), creada en 2022 para centralizar el análisis de UAP en el Departamento.

Los reportes incorporaban telemetría de sensores con marcas de tiempo, coordenadas y parámetros cinemáticos. Entre los tipos de sensores que las fuentes asocian a las plataformas implicadas figuran radares navales de la familia AN/SPY, radar de imagen ISAR para vigilancia marítima, sistemas electro-ópticos/infrarrojos tipo ATFLIR y datos de plataformas de patrulla como el P-8 Poseidon; algunos objetos solo resultaron detectables en ciertas bandas, como el infrarrojo de onda corta (SWIR). Las características reportadas con mayor frecuencia describen objetos pequeños, de geometría cilíndrica o discoidal, capaces de mantener velocidades altas a baja altura sobre el mar y, en algunos casos, de detenerse y reacelerar de un modo que las tripulaciones consideraron no convencional. Es necesario subrayar que la mayor parte de estos expedientes permanecía clasificada como S//NOFORN y que su evaluación cinemática precisa sigue siendo objeto de análisis, no un hecho cerrado.

A partir de 2024 y, sobre todo, en 2026, el Departamento inició una desclasificación progresiva de archivos UAP bajo el programa PURSUE, que liberó cientos de documentos y videos abarcando encuentros globales de 2018 a 2026, incluidos varios sobre el Golfo Pérsico y zonas adyacentes del teatro de CENTCOM. La concentración geográfica sobre un área que alberga tanto grupos de combate navales estadounidenses como infraestructura estratégica iraní es uno de los rasgos analíticos del conjunto. Los veinte documentos embebidos abarcan casi una década (2016-2025): el grueso se concentra en el corredor Golfo Pérsico–Estrecho de Ormuz–Mar Arábigo–Golfo de Adén durante 2020, pero se extienden también a Siria (2016 y 2023), el Mediterráneo, Irak (2023) y, ya fuera del teatro de CENTCOM, a un intercambio del INDOPACOM (2025). Cada parte es un registro operacional escueto y mayormente redactado —no un análisis—: documenta que la tripulación reportó un fenómeno no identificado y bajo qué circunstancias, sin resolver su naturaleza. Su valor es de procedencia (partes militares primarios, no relatos de prensa) y de patrón: muestran que los avistamientos fueron un fenómeno sostenido y rutinariamente reportado por la cadena operacional a lo largo de años y teatros, no episodios aislados.

Between 2020 and 2024, the U.S. Department of Defense (reorganized in this period as the Department of War) received structured reports of recurrent UAP incursions over the CENTCOM (United States Central Command) area of responsibility, concentrated in the Persian Gulf, the Strait of Hormuz, and the Gulf of Aden. The reports described objects with anomalous kinetic behavior penetrating or overflying U.S. Navy activity zones, observed from military platforms through multiple sensor modalities. Much of this material was elevated to the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO), created in 2022 to centralize UAP analysis within the Department.

The reports incorporated sensor telemetry with timestamps, coordinates, and kinematic parameters. Among the sensor types sources associate with the platforms involved are naval radars of the AN/SPY family, ISAR imaging radar for maritime surveillance, electro-optical/infrared systems of the ATFLIR type, and data from patrol platforms such as the P-8 Poseidon; some objects were detectable only in certain bands, such as short-wave infrared (SWIR). The most frequently reported characteristics describe small objects, of cylindrical or disc geometry, capable of sustaining high speeds at low altitude over the sea and, in some cases, of halting and re-accelerating in a manner crews considered unconventional. It should be stressed that most of these files remained classified as S//NOFORN and that their precise kinematic assessment remains under analysis, not a settled fact.

From 2024 and, above all, in 2026, the Department began a progressive declassification of UAP files under the PURSUE program, which released hundreds of documents and videos spanning global encounters from 2018 to 2026, including several over the Persian Gulf and adjacent areas of the CENTCOM theater. The geographic concentration over an area hosting both U.S. carrier strike groups and Iranian strategic infrastructure is one of the analytical features of the set. The public testimony of legislators with access to classified briefings — among them Senator Marco Rubio — has been cited as indirect confirmation that these reports were taken seriously at the highest level, though such statements do not amount to a technical characterization of the phenomenon.

PURSUE declassified a broad series of these reports —Mission Reports (MISREP), 'range fouler debriefs' and email correspondence—, now embedded in this case's viewer. The twenty embedded documents span nearly a decade (2016-2025): the bulk concentrates on the Persian Gulf–Strait of Hormuz–Arabian Sea–Gulf of Aden corridor during 2020, but they also extend to Syria (2016 and 2023), the Mediterranean, Iraq (2023) and, beyond the CENTCOM theater, to an INDOPACOM exchange (2025). Each report is a terse and mostly redacted operational record —not an analysis—: it documents that the crew reported an unidentified phenomenon and under what circumstances, without resolving its nature. Its value is one of provenance (primary military reports, not press accounts) and of pattern: they show that sightings were a sustained phenomenon, routinely reported through the operational chain across years and theaters, not isolated episodes.

Este conjunto importa al corpus por tres razones encadenadas. Tercero, la concentración geográfica sobre el teatro de CENTCOM reproduce, en clave contemporánea, el patrón histórico de UAP recurrentes sobre infraestructura militarmente sensible (los avistamientos sobre instalaciones nucleares en Sandia, 1948, o Malmstrom, 1967): una correlación espacial que, de sostenerse, sería en sí misma un dato.

La honestidad analítica obliga a fijar con cuidado el peso de la evidencia, porque es un caso donde la calidad institucional puede confundirse con calidad probatoria. Que la AARO procese un reporte no significa que lo haya validado como anómalo: la propia oficina ha resuelto la mayoría de los casos que examina como objetos mundanos (drones, globos, basura espacial, artefactos de sensor, plataformas adversarias). La descripción cinemática 'no convencional' procede en buena medida de tripulaciones y de análisis preliminares, no de un dictamen físico cerrado, y la fragmentación y clasificación del material impiden por ahora una verificación independiente plena. Además, en una zona de altísima densidad de actividad militar, de inteligencia y de drones —tanto estadounidense como iraní—, la hipótesis de tecnología clasificada o adversaria es un competidor serio que no puede descartarse. El valor del conjunto, por tanto, es el de un patrón institucional robusto sobre un fenómeno cuya naturaleza permanece, deliberadamente y por las propias autoridades, sin resolver.

This set matters to the corpus for three linked reasons. First, it is contemporary rather than historical evidence: unlike Cold War cases, it rests on modern military sensor telemetry with digital records, timestamps, and metadata, which in principle allows far more demanding technical scrutiny. Second, the routing of the reports to AARO and their subsequent partial declassification under PURSUE entails a degree of institutional processing few corpus cases reach: the State not only received the data but stood up an office to analyze it and a program to release it. Third, the geographic concentration over the CENTCOM theater reproduces, in contemporary form, the historical pattern of recurrent UAPs over militarily sensitive infrastructure (the sightings over nuclear facilities at Sandia, 1948, or Malmstrom, 1967): a spatial correlation that, if it holds, would itself be a datum.

Analytical honesty requires carefully setting the weight of the evidence, because this is a case where institutional quality can be mistaken for evidentiary quality. That AARO processes a report does not mean it has validated it as anomalous: the office itself has resolved most cases it examines as mundane objects (drones, balloons, space debris, sensor artifacts, adversary platforms). The 'unconventional' kinematic description derives largely from crews and preliminary analyses, not from a closed physical determination, and the material's fragmentation and classification currently preclude full independent verification. Moreover, in a zone of extremely high military, intelligence, and drone activity — both U.S. and Iranian — the hypothesis of classified or adversary technology is a serious competitor that cannot be ruled out. The set's value, therefore, is that of a robust institutional pattern around a phenomenon whose nature remains, deliberately and by the authorities themselves, unresolved.
